A very `nice county airport......it is about 12 minutes south of the museum.....but a straight shot right up the road......

Help Support Home Model Engine Machinist Forum:
Forgive me if it's been asked but what time does the show open on Friday for setup? Plan to be in the area about 9am Friday and would like to get setup and then visit some of the other museums.

Friday set will be from 8 am till 6 pm ( carts to load in & out available, Forklift service available, large garage doors to load thru) the entire show is on 1 level with no stairs or steps .
Saturday 9 am till 6 pm
Sunday 1030 till 4 pm
Show staff will be on site an hour before the show opens
RV parking on site (no hook ups)
Plenty of parking (and it's free)
Children under 12 are free

Given the limited flight options ATL-IND I changed my plans and will fly to Indianapolis on Friday morning and visit the city before driving to Ft. Wayne in the afternoon. Then I'll have all day Saturday to visit the show and the museums. Staying at an airport hotel Saturday night before flying home on Sunday.

Save room in your luggage for the goodies you purchased at the show
I'll be there for at least Saturday most of the day. Easy to spot, paunch, almost white beard, thin white and some slightly brown hair. Oh wait a minute...

When you do find each other, there will a few roundwhite tables with chairs for a social area. Sit down and BS for bit

I live in Indy. A couple of notes:
The Indy 500 museum is currently closed for renovations.
Indianapolis has a few decent "barcades".
If you've never tried duck pin bowling, go to Fountain Square.
The Zoo is pretty good.
The Eiteljorg Museum isn't all that.
I do recommend the Indiana State Museum.

I'll be exhibiting at the show. I haven't fully decided which of my 20 plus steam engines to display though...

I went to the show and had a great time. I was only there on Sunday as I had other plans on Saturday. It's a great show, and I think now the word is out about it it will only continue to grow in the future. I met a few of the club members and they were all very friendly and asked us several times if we needed anything to just let them know. I spent some time walking through the museum as well and it was pretty interesting. Some very nice vintage cars, trucks, race cars, etc. I will definitely be back next year and should be able to show some of my engines as well. As usual the exhibitors were all pleasant to talk to and I got to hear some interesting stories from some of them. Thanks for putting on a great show. The only picture I took there was one of the pedal cars in the museum. I think it would look great under my grandson.

I tried to go, but I have to travel to a wedding in a few weeks, and could not afford two trips in one month.

I was disappointed that the cars and trucks were not accessible. There was yellow tape keeping you out of the car area and the lower floor was blocked off. I was expecting more engines and access to the cars and trucks. Lots more empty tables than occupied tables.

Hmm. I was there Friday to set up and I went around to all the cars. You just had to make your way through the exhibitor tables to the far wall and come at them from the back. Maybe they changed something. I never went down to the lower two levels where apparently there were trucks. Someone said they were all accessible. Can't say.

What day were you there? I could only show on Saturday and there were others in the same boat. I know the exhibitors were a little light but it's the first year. It will continue to grow year after year.
