I am a recently retired Chartered Civil Engineer C Eng. MICE and past chairman of the Sheffield and District Society of model and Experimental Engineers (SDSMEE). Also as SDSMEE we run the Abbeydale Miniature Railway in Sheffield England.
I have a long history with wood working projects but through membership of SDSMEE I am hoping to extend my knowledge and expertise in metal working and machining and to this extent I have acquired a part model kit for a Perkins Hit and Miss engine.
It is my intention to complete the model, but to start with I need a set of plans which will help in all matters of construction.
I have a small garden workshop and access to a small lathe and a milling machine and a basic level of skill related to metal working.
I have joined your society in the hope that I will be able to get a set of drawings and to tap into the knowledge bank of your members who may be familiar with the Perkins 1/4 scale Hit and Miss engine.
I do not subscribe to any social media platforms, so I conduct all my correspondence via email or telephone.
